“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” Schools out for Summer! We made it to the end of term with all 4 in school for the last 3 days at least! They all went in on Monday morning and by lunch time Teddy was sent home slightly unwell and was at home until Wednesday.
I really enjoyed having some rare one to one time with him. He was a calming influence to have in the house with me. It’s amazing how different they can be when you spend time alone with them. We enjoyed a quick walk before the day got too hot.
Expecting another school bubble ping at any point we were pleasantly surprised to get to the last few days of term as planned.
It was lovely that Florence got to have her last few days in preschool and have some fun play sessions with her friends. This week marked the end to our Mummy and Me days (apart from one day at the start of September together) before she starts school.
It’s certainly an end of an era for me to be without a little one at home. It will be over 15 years by the time she starts school and I have felt pretty emotional about it all. It’s certainly bittersweet. I know that I need to spend more time on me and my own projects but I’m also sad that our preschool days are behind us.
I loved this photo of her on Thursday morning where she asked if we could buy some pink milk so she could drink it whilst watching Charlie and Lola. This was taken just before we spent her Mummy and Me day having lunch with Grandma at M&S cafe, something that she loves to do as she gets both of our attention!
This last photo was taken this weekend where we had friends over for the day. Florence helped me make pastry and a salad. She’s becoming very adept at chopping and peeling for a 4 year old.
We’ve really enjoyed slowing the pace down now the holidays are here. We’re pretty tired from the end of term so for the next week we will be definitely taking it easy.

Lovely photos – I felt quite emotional when Gabe started school so I can’t imagine what it’s like when you’ve done it four times! I’m glad she got to enjoy a last Mummy and Me day though 🙂
The end of preschool for your youngest is such an end of an era. I bet she’s really excited for school after seeing her siblings going each day. I’m so pleased we’re finally on summer holidays! x
I am very surprised that we managed to get to the end of the term without a ping – keeping everything crossed next terms starts as well! Ahhh bittersweet indeed I struggled with it and I had only been doing it for 7 years. Hope you are having a lovely break away x
