A few Little Things with Living Arrows 21/52(2022)

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” With yet another week with poorly ones at home I have decided to focus on a few little things that I have noticed about the kids to stop me from whinging about the latest school germs!

A few little things - a girl say playing with her toys by a patio door

Florence lost her second tooth this weekend, which I don’t think she was expecting to happen quite so soon after losing her first one. It came out at school and when lining up to come home, she was like a big cheshire cat grinning and waving madly at us! A little win this weekend was that she played really well by herself, which is progress. She doesn’t find it easy to entertain herself so to see her playing with our Sylvanian Families was real progress! She was chuffed with how she set them up and asked me to take this picture. She has also had a few dry nights in a row after she has struggled to stay dry at nighttimes. Now all we need is for her to ease up on her many diva tantrums of late and we’re winning all round!

A few little things - a girl with her dog by a hedge

As for Teddy, on the school run he had to run to the car and grab his cook school Tupperware box that we had accidently left in the car. He walked part way by himself to retrieve his box and I was really surprised, as he doesn’t usually let me out of his sight. Another little moment of independence was on two seperate occasions this week he asked an adult a question without him requesting I ask the question for him!

As for Daisy, she’s had a recent growth spurt. I was walking behind her today when she was stood next to Dougie. She was really pleased when I told her as she really wants to grow a little taller!

As for Fin he’s been busy revising away. He’s pleased with this week’s exams, so we’re hoping for another week of good progress. I’m also hopeful for a few less teenage grunts when he appears in the kitchen looking for food!

That’s it for a few little things I have noted this week. We’re all looking towards Friday and the arrival of half term, as even though it’s been a short term, we are ready for it!

Daisy looks so grown up now and I love Teddy’s new found independence. We’re always trying to get our two to do little things by themselves – pay for something in a shop, ask someone a question or order their own food in a restaurant but it’s tough going with Little Man – he’d rather not speak to anyone outside our family! x

It sounds like lots of little wins this week! Toby walked home from school with a friend this week (it’s not very far and I was in the car with Gabe along the way keeping an eye on them) and it made me realise how quickly they’re growing up! Glad to here Fin’s exams are going well – l’ll bet it will be a relief when they’re over!

Hope you are enjoying half term. We also have full on diva tantrums at the moment and I am also hoping that they will stop soon! I wish I could still grow taller and hope the exams are still progressing well.
