Bath
If you want somewhere you can unwind and relax, where better than a spa town which is actually known for its relaxing baths? Although you can no longer get in and bathe in the old Roman baths, you can visit the spa next door. There, you can swim in pools, including one rooftop pool, which is fed by the very same natural hot spring that the Romans used to bathe in. Bath is also a great place to go to cafes and museums, wander through pretty parks and so on, so there is plenty to do in this small city while also being very relaxing.
Amble
As the name seems to suggest, this is a wonderful place for simply walking around, and if that is the kind of activity that you tend to find pretty relaxing, then this is definitely something that you should try out. Amble is a beautiful little town, and while it’s very quiet, that is of course part of why it’s quite so relaxing to spend time in. Book yourself in at the Amble Inn and simply while away a few days doing nothing in particular, and you will find yourself fully rejuvenated by the end of the trip.
Cotswolds
The Cotswolds actually refers to a group of small villages and towns in the South West of England, so you have a lot of different options to choose between here. A good example of a particularly relaxing destination might be Castle Combe, which despite the name does not actually have a castle, but is definitely one of the sleepiest places you will ever visit. It’s also a much-loved spot that you might notice from a number of films and TV shows, so keep your eyes peeled for any scenes you might recognise.
Exmoor
If you want to spend your holiday walking around and then chilling in the evening, you could find yourself a place to stay on or near Exmoor. This offers some of the most amazing natural beauty anywhere in England, and its scenery can be truly breathtaking. What’s more, you will be able to keep away from the crowds and simply be alone for a few days, so if that is the kind of relaxing time you are looking for, this is definitely a great place to check out.
Any of those are going to be wonderful relaxing destinations, so pick one and go!
