Scavenger Hunt at Beningbrough Hall with Living Arrows 25/52

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” This week has gone by in a flash of work, jobs and sunshine! It’s been a fairly ordinary week of routine, so I don’t have much to share. The weekend was spent being busy with clubs and a birthday party. The only photos I purposefully have taken were from a short trip with Florence and my Mum to do a new scavenger hunt at Beningbrough hall, our local National trust.

As we pre booked our tickets we ended up going on the hottest day of the year up here in Yorkshire. Florence really struggled in the heat to find the motivation for the scavenger hunt.

We found a really lovely shady spot by the wildlife pond to enjoy our picnic lunch. There are some lovely benches dotted around but not that many are shaded. Not normally something we have to worry about up North!

Once we had eaten we walked around the gardens which are now blooming beautifully. The scavenger markers are dotted around the grounds in a big loop so you can see all parts of the garden. They are easy to find as they have placed logs next to each of the clues.

The markers also have nature facts for you to read with your child. particularly helpful for If you’re taking part in 30 days wild for June.

We marked off about half of the markers and vow to return to mark the rest off on a cooler day. Florence was pleased to see the gift shop was open for the first time in a while and so spent some pocket money on a solar keyring for her and for her brother’s upcoming birthday in July. They had some fab pocket money toys in the shop, I was pretty impressed.

After our scavenger hunt at Beningbrough hall we arrived home with time for Flo to cool off in the pool under Grandma’s watchful eye whilst I went out on the school run. I’m really going to miss our little adventures on her preschool days off once the summer is over and she starts school.
