Our kids absolutely love a snack mix now since we made a Halloween and Christmas version last year. Our daughter Daisy asked if we could make a Valentine’s movie snack mix. I love the fact that you can use a variety of treats that are available and just theme it around a seasonal colour. Obviously for Valentine’s we went for a pink and red theme for our snack mix.
The main ingredient to all our snack mixes is popcorn. Sometimes we like to go for a sweet and salty mix and add a few pretzels. This time we stuck with plain old sweet popcorn. I would have loved to get hold of some white chocolate pretzels but with it being lockdown I just went with the ingredients available to me as they weren’t in stock.
This Valentine’s snack mix is easy for a tween or teen to make up for the whole family. I know our tween loves whipping up treats for her siblings.
Instead of strawberry laces you could just use fruit wriggles or fruit shapes from the toddler or health food aisle of the supermarket.
We used a multipack of 4 tubes of smarties and picked out the pink, purple and red ones. Don’t worry we put the other coloured smarties to good use!
We popped in a few heart shaped sprinkles just for aesthetics more than anything.
We would love to hear what movie you choose to watch whilst eating your Valentine’s snack mix!
