After good intentions of carrying on some homeschooling to keep a routine this week we ended up simply enjoying the garden, baking, relaxing and eating too many treats! Although we have kept up with our Joe Wicks PE sessions which I consider a great achievement as we haven’t missed one yet.
In the garden they have had fun with a new giant bubble kit that they clubbed together with some Easter money they got from family. I hope that this will be played with throughout the coming months.
We have also successfully grown tadpoles from the frog spawn we collected a few weeks ago. Teddy is pleased that he’s managing to fatten the tadpoles up with some boiled lettuce and is expecting froglets to develop very soon.
Daisy was chuffed to manage a 5k run with Dougie this weekend and then followed it up with some more exercise when we all went for a long family cycle on Sunday for Dougie’s Birthday. We then returned home and balanced it out with lots of treats as the older two set up a home cinema in the living room and we all watched Cheaper by the Dozen. This film made me feel better that the chaos in our home could be worse!
Now that the Easter Holidays have come to a close we’re faced with another stretch of home learning. I do think the kids are ready for it, I’m just not sure I’m ready or equipped well enough to deliver the structure we all need. I will no doubt report back next week on how it’s all gone.

Oh the frogs sound so exciting! I bet the children are enthralled!! We pretty much switched off for the whole of the Easter break and then tried to get back into routine last Monday but it was HARD! x
The bubble kits sounds fun, I keep looking at these – is it easy to use? Sounds like a lovely Easter break and I hope that the last week wasn’t too bad for getting back into the routine. We struggled a little but I am hoping this week will be much better.
