Family of 6 Menu Planning

Meal Plan.jpg

July 2108

I quite often trawl Pinterest and blogs for meal ideas and menu planning inspiration.  So with that in mind I thought to myself why don’t I share my own plans and ideas on here – so that my friends is what I plan to do.  I would love for you to share any of your own recipe and meal plan ideas also.

So first up here is how I shop-

I shop online and mostly Sainsbury’s online, as I just can’t spend ages in a supermarket anymore without going stir crazy!  I also find it’s the best way to not be tempted by non-food items in store, thus sticking to a budget. It’s great that you can now have annual passes or cheap deliveries on certain days and to try and choose the green slots for when the van is in my area. I also shop locally as much as possible for fruit, veg and eggs. This is reducing my plastic use and keeping money local.

I meal plan for the whole week for main meals mostly and jot down a few lunch and breakfast ideas but mostly I tend to have the same things; of cereal, toast, sandwiches, cooked eggs and soup or salads.

I find my meal plan ideas from our own family favourites, cookbooks, Pinterest and other blogs. I find Pinterest and blogs brilliant when I’m stuck in a rut.

So for this week our meal plan is :

Homemade Baked Beans with Chorizo served with a jacket potato and sausage

Pizza Chicken – Chicken Breasts topped with mozzarella, pesto and tomato served with a vegetable rice pouch and crudités.

Cod in a cheesy parsley and chivesauce with Mash and Vegetables

Homemade Beef mince Meatballs with grated apple and carrot served with rigatoni

Homemade Salmon en croute with pesto, salad and potatoes

Homemade Tomato and sweet potato soup with rolls and yogurt, fruit and homemade granola bars.

Homemade pizza made using the two ingredient Greek yoghurt method.

Going forward I will share some of my recipes and also I have attached my two Pinterest recipe boards that change constantly with recipe ideas.
