“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.” Well here we are in lockdown in January. I was expecting it but it still has knocked me a little. I think it was the stress of committing to starting school on Monday with the stats as they were and then to be told that evening that we wouldn’t be returning the next day.
On Tuesday we made the decision to keep Florence out of preschool and at home with us for now.
Now we’re back to homeschool. One thing for sure is, I’m not putting myself under as much pressure as I did the first time around. I’m lowering my expectations and crossing everything that the kids will do the same for me!
Fin has had live lessons as he’s in year 10 and I think Daisy and Teddy will do going forward soon. Florence has been a bit of a challenge as she’s missing nursery and is confused after going for a day but I’m hopeful we can work through this and she will start to settle soon.
Lockdown and homeschool aside we have been treated to some lovely wintry weather this week. It was great to see some snow as Teddy and Flo can’t really remember playing in much of it. We all enjoyed sledging and we kept on going until we were tired, hungry, freezing and wet! It’s amazing how snow can just transport you to being a carefree child and I smiled the entire way down the hill!
We have ended this week outdoors, doing what we do best. Which is a good job as it’s pretty much all we can do in lockdown! The kids enjoyed walking through the woods smashing the ice and standing on shallow ponds to scare me slightly!

We sadly only had a flurry of snow and I’m sad that we couldn’t go sledging. Such fun and such lovely photos 🙂

I am definitely lowering my expecations too but the workload seems to have gone through the roof. Mine are also fascinated with ice and if they can throw something at it the more the better! I would have been the same if they had walked on the ice though! Hope you have a good week.
Aww, look at Florence’s big smile! My boys were a bit confused by going to school for one day and then being told they couldn’t go back again. I’m so proud of how well all the children are coping with this though – they all seem to be taking it their stride, mostly at least!

We got quite a bit of snow and is really lifted everyone’s spirit- apart from Daddy who was stuck (literally) at work!
