“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” This week has gone by very slowly as Daisy and I were really looking forward to taking a quick trip to London on Friday.

I haven’t been down to London since February 2020 when we visited to celebrate my brother’s birthday. We were just starting to hear more about Covid at that point and then from March onwards everything suddenly changed.
London was much quieter than we expected. We actually find York is much busier than London, as we pretty much avoid the city at the moment. So I can recommend visiting now before more tourists return!
It was good to be visiting the capital again and being able to spend an evening with my siblings whilst also having quality time with Daisy. We packed in as much as we could in our quick trip and did a little bit of sightseeing, shopping and dinner before heading off the following day on the train for an appointment in the South West.

The sun shone so we headed up to check out the view from Marble mound before taking Daisy to a few shops. She wasn’t keen on climbing the scaffolding stairs but she stuck with it and got to see the view at the top.
Daisy loved soaking up the buzz of the city whilst having my sister and I all to herself. She gets on so well with my sister, so it’s lovely that we spent the day with her. Then in the evening we got to meet up for a lovely dinner with my brother and sister-in-law which was fab as we haven’t got to see them much in the past two years.
Daisy and I returned from our quick trip to London and the South West happy albeit very exhausted! I really appreciated having Sunday to chill. The little ones were pleased to have me back as they barely spend any time away from me. In fact I’m pretty sure this was my first time leaving Florence at home with Dougie for the night!

We had a lovely walk out on our local common before Daisy had a hockey match, finding a lovely patch of blackberries after thinking they were coming to an end.

I’m signing off now for the week as I’m so tired, I can barely see what I’m typing! I’m a little apprehensive of the coming week after receiving lots of messages from our primary school on Friday regarding a rise in cases there. I’m sure this is the same everywhere and something we will become used to navigating but at the same time it rattles me slightly. Hope you’re all well and that you enjoyed week 39 of the year?

So pleased you had such a nice trip to London. We have always found it over recent months so much quieter than pre-pandemic. it’s much nicer! x
Sounds like a lovely adventure, funnily enough I was taking the same picture by the flowers last night on the way home from the bar!! I am the same as you re the rise in cases as we have been getting emails too. Lets hope it starts to get better again.
Week 39 of the year already! How?!?
We loved London when we went in the summer holidays, it was so much quieter than usual.
