I’m pleased to share these 5 fun outdoor activities for children to try today from this nursery in Putney.

Football
A fun summer activity that all the family can enjoy is a round of football. This can easily be
done in your home or at your local football field, providing you have enough space to do so.
It’s a way of getting your children to practice their teamwork and knowing how to delegate
tasks between friends or family.
Swimming
A lot of local areas are now reviving their lidos, a popular way of taking children swimming
when it’s hot outside. Failing that, the local swimming pool or even a trip to the beach can
really excite the kids. Make sure to put suncream on your children if they’re going to be
swimming outdoors.
Going for a walk
A simple yet invigorating activity for kids is just a nice walk in the local area. There are plenty
of woodland walks to discover, or a walk around a nearby park and grounds is a lovely way
for your child to experience nature and see what’s on their doorstep.
Volunteering
A lot of volunteering opportunities are usually done in the great outdoors, like litter picking or
supporting a local wildlife reserve with their research. You can usually take the children
along to these for a few hours to see how they can help and if they want to get involved next
time. It’s a great test of your children’s resilience and confidence skills.
Gardening
Something a lot of children can help with is gardening, where you don’t have to venture far
from home and still have the chance to teach your children something new. Give them a
challenge to see which carrots grow the biggest, for instance. Or it could be a way of getting
them involved in the cooking when the veg is ready to harvest.
I hope you enjoyed reading these 5 fun outdoor activities? I really liked the idea of kids volunteering.
