Birthday and Mother’s Day Celebrations with Living Arrows 13/52 (2022)

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” This weekend has been busy with both birthday and Mother’s Day celebrations. I’m almost needing Monday to come, so I can have a rest!

Birthday celebrations with a boy in the bowling alley holding a bowling ball

Finlay turned 16 this weekend! He was actually born on Mother’s Day and so it was really lovely to have both celebrations side by side this year. It was really good to have him around for the weekend. understandably as he’s getting older he spends quite a bit of time with his friends at the weekends. We headed to the local bowling alley and took all 4 bowling for the first time. We all enjoyed it and had a laugh at our lucky strikes and our terrible attempts! Flo did some excellent victory dances, even when only knocking one pin down, bless her!

We ended the family birthday celebrations with an ice cream cake which was delicious. He’s having friends around for a small party next week. After spending the last 2 birthdays in lockdowns, it’s definitely fair he has two celebrations! I still cant believe he’s 16! I have included one of the first Living Arrows photos of him from 4 years ago.

On Sunday after a chilled morning we headed for a walk at the Hole of Horcum on the Yorkshire Moors. It was a pretty ambitious 5 miles for Florence to walk. We had a gazillion stops where they all needed a rest, or a play and the help of cake and chocolate was a necessity to get all the way around! The views of the moors were spectacular and well worth the hot ascent back up to the car park.

I hear this warm weather is changing this week. It’s been really lovely doing a few garden jobs and dusting the outdoor furniture off ready for the Easter holidays in a few weeks.

Happy Birthday Fin! It’s hard to believe these photos in the sunshine were only a week ago – and now we’re back to freezing weather again! Here’s hoping the sun comes back soon!
