Family Life Living Arrows 4|52

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”. Kahlil Gibran.   Family life this week has been a little nondescript.  I’m probably being a little unfair in that description as it kind of fits my funny mood today. I’m telling myself it is ok to have weeks that are just like that, as not every week can be eventful, especially in January!

That said, as always there are moments from the week that I can pick out and look back on and smile and that is why I love doing these weekly Living Arrows posts. 

Focusing on these good moments, we are incredibly proud of Daisy for fundraising for the Koalas in Australia.  After initially donating some Birthday money to a charity in Australia.  She and one of her good friends pitched it to their Scout group that they could raise money through a bake and bric a brac sale.

The scout group,  volunteers and parents all mucked in together and raised over £500 with some donations still coming in.  It really was a wonderful evening and was great to be a part of a community who are wanting to help others and the planet.

At the weekend, we met up with some old friends that we were posted in Germany together.  It really amazes me how it seems like yesterday we were all in the same place living daily family life together.  After 4 years the conversation flowed and all the kids got along brilliantly.  It always makes me reflect on how bittersweet Army family life can be.

After all my pondering this week.  I’m going to include my last photo of Teddy singing. They found our hidden microphone this weekend and so Florence and him both enjoyed singing their new favourite tune ‘hey tiger’ from the tiger who came to tea.  It has been on repeat on Alexa since Christmas!
