“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”. Kahlil Gibran. Family life this week has been eventful to say the least! We’ve had Florence catch a reasonable dose of chicken pox, bless her. Finlay then had a skateboarding accident resulting in another break to his arm. This time he had 2 breaks in his arm and so had an operation to manipulate the bones in place under anaesthetic. At the time of writing he is much more comfortable, just very fed up to be in a cast again for a month.
It wasn’t all drama, this week we got to have a lovely few days away for a press trip. It ended up being just what we all needed, some off grid downtime in a very rural spot in the Yorkshire Dales. We got to switch off from the usual weekend chores and kids clubs that we have at the weekend and just concentrate on some fun family time.
I love this picture of Teddy at a National Trust playground in the Dales. It sums up how happy he is to have quality time playing with us all.
We had a really lovely walk on Saturday making the most of having a rest from the recent constant rain and were lucky to come across this beautiful viewpoint. It even inspired Daisy to come home and paint a landscape of this view.
This photo was taken on Sunday when she was thankfully feeling much better. She was happy to pose for a photo with one of her beloved sticks and I was pleased that I got this capture of her with the pox as it’s all memories to look back on.

Oh no! I hope he’s ok with his arm. Troy broke his arms three times within a year and it was such a stressful time – he dealt with it amazingly though! x

Your trip looked wonderful it really does make a difference to leave it all behind sometimes doesn’t it. Sorry to hear about the dreaded pox and Finlays arm. Hope they are both on the mend now x
