Half Term Rest days and Celebrations!

Living Arrows 2018 (8/53)

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”. Kahlil Gibran

Well that is half term already done and dusted, how are we hurtling towards March already? For us half term was a week of two halves, the first half a few lazier days.

The weather was so baltic and miserable for the most part we just had to have several quieter indoor days.  The kids were happy to entertain themselves with lego creations, the odd film, playing with friends and making endless cards for family birthdays.  I felt a little redundant at times as they were very entertained playing with each other, I suppose this is one big benefit of having 4! I’m not going to complain as it gave me much needed time to get on top of packing and preparing life admin for a few days away before going back to school. We did visit York Castle Museum at the start of the week, the highlight of the day was being locked up by a Victorian bobby on the beat for taking part in a loud, enthusiastic Suffragette march down the museum’s Victorian cobbled street!

We then had the treat of going down to London for my sister’s big birthday bash.  The kids loved staying in a hotel for a change and then being able to stay up very late with extended family, whilst being thoroughly entertained by Dotty the kids entertainer, who made the most amazing balloon creations for them! The weekend was topped off by a lovely family brunch at the very trendy chilled out hotel The Hoxton. We will remember this weekend as the weekend that saw Teddy fall in love with Finlay’s hand me down bow tie.   Teddy rocked this look in his true mini eccentric way!

The weather has been pretty iffy at times hasn’t it? I would love to visit York, it’s on my bucket list! x
