“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”. Kahlil Gibran.Large family life seems like an apt title for this weeks living arrows as we split the family in two and had very different weekends!
After yet another very quick week, the big two and Dougie packed up their sleeping bags and rucksacks for scout camp. After one beautiful day, they managed to survive camping out in storm Ciara. I think I was awake more worrying about how they were all fairing in the high winds! We were proud that Fin got scout of the camp, especially as this was possibly his last chance to camp as a scout. It seems like yesterday he went on his first Beaver camp with Aldershot beavers and came home at midnight because he had been unwell.
Whilst the scouts were away we had a really lovely time. The littles and I had a sleepover in my room on Teddy’s request which turned into two sleepovers.
After visiting earlier in the week Florence requested we take Teddy and Grandma for a picnic and a play to a historic house on the Yorkshire Wolds that is currently doing free entry. They loved the farm park, the playground and most of all playing in the trees down by the big pond. I took so many lovely photos of them together.
We then rounded the day off nicely by going to an Italian restaurant with family to celebrate Grandma’s Birthday.
After a busy Saturday a day at home, hibernating in the storm was very much needed.
For last weeks living Arrows family life update

It sounds like you had a lovely weekend. Great pictures especially the shot in the tree. I love it.
What lovely photos! Very brave to go camping when Storm Ciara was around! #LivingArrows
I think I preferred your weekend to the camping! So impressed they managed the night in the storm! x
Sounds like you all had a lovely weekend. Well done to the Scouts for surviving the storm! Even though we’ve only got two children we sometimes find that ‘divide and conquer’ works well for everyone when we take one each and do something on our own 🙂 #LivingArrows
I am so impressed they went camping in the storm. I would have been the same . Sounds like you had a good weekend though? Hope you are enjoying half term x
