It was at last our turn for a week break from hectic school runs. We have had a pretty successful week off. It could have been better if there had been a few less squabbles from the big two, but I cannot expect miracles! And they did go out and play for a whole hour without a cross word, so I’m clinging onto that half term memory instead!
This week I think we managed just the right mix of time at home and trips out. Although the kids wanted to stay home pretty much everyday, I myself needed a little more balance for sanity reasons! So we saw Mary Poppins Returns at the cinema, had quite a few trips to various parks and saw friends. This weekend when Dougie returned home from 2 days away (very convenient, abandoning me in the holidays hehe!) we had a nice National Trust visit, where after several hilarious and slightly frustrated outtakes we managed to get a picture of all of us smiling and looking at the camera, amazing. I think I may have pushed my luck though with Dougie’s patience as to how many takes we tried!
Finally we had a really lovely Sunday where the boys went to the Lego movie and us girls went into York and went to Waterstones to get a few new books and use our book day tokens. Daisy and I had a lovely time, getting plenty of time to chat and went for a little shop and a brownie whilst Florence slept in her pram. I really think this week has recharged us nicely and we’re now ready to start back to routine with a busy first week, and fortunately a 4 day one as we have an inset day on Friday.

Sounds like you had a really lovely half term break! Hope the return to school this week goes well! x #LivingArrows

Oh I really want to go and see Mary Poppins and we still need to use our book day vouchers. Sounds like a very successful half term to me – your instagram photos looked great
