Putting up some Easter Decorations with Living Arrows 14/52

We’re all now counting down the days to the Easter holidays although the last few weeks really have flown by! This weekend Florence and I had fun putting up some Easter decorations. We started putting up a few Easter decorations after living in Germany, it’s very popular over there to have Easter decs in houses, cafes and shops etc.

We have never bought a proper Easter tree we just use fallen branches and hang eggs from the twigs. Flo put all the eggs on herself and then she decorated a little garden with fluffy chicks, bunnies and other figurines. I really love the pastel colours that Easter brings into the house amongst all the spring bulbs that I have dotted around at the moment.

Our school are running a voluntary Easter bonnet parade and Teddy requested having a go at making one. I really didn’t want to go out to the shops so we raided the recycling and came up with a creation together. Florence wanted hers to be a bunny and was very pleased with what we created together.

Teddy asked me what happens if he doesn’t win. He’s really at a competitive age at the minute and so it’s really helpful to take part in various competitions so he gets to learn more about taking part, a concept that hasn’t always come easily to him but he’s getting much better at coping with not always winning. Florence on the other hand just loves the craic, so doesn’t care on the final outcome just enjoys all the process of it all. She’s also got firm ideas on how she will be decorating her egg for her class competition and is looking forward to colouring in her egg this week.

We will update you on how they get on with their Easter competitions next week! I hope you all have a lovely first week of holidays / last week of term.

Hope you survived your last week of school. The Easter hats look awesome – our school don’t really do anything like that for Easter (although I’m secretly quite relieved I don’t have to get crafty!)
