“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.”I have to admit I found most of this week pretty tough. I just wasn’t feeling the love. This meant that we were on survival mode so the kids got more screen time than usual and lots of independent play whilst I felt a little overwhelmed with it all. Then thankfully the end of the week brought warm sunshine and it felt like spring is coming at last!

Whenever I feel a little overwhelmed I find baking really helps. Teddy has also shown an interest and so has been busy baking with me. This resulted in him wanting to help out at dinner time too. This past week, I have relaxed on some of his schoolwork as he’s just got frustrated with it all. Spending time doing things like this have helped restore the balance and made us both smile.
The lovely weather gave me the much needed motivation to get out into the garden and go for a lovely walk on Sunday. We enjoyed spotting some signs of spring, I felt old when I was pleased to hang the first lot of washing outside and the kids have skateboarded up and down the street!

The kids were happy to comply for this photo as we promised them a fun game of forty forty in the woods. This also meant we could avoid the park for a bit longer as it was a little busy due to it being such a lovey day.

Unfortunately Teddy had a nasty fall off his skateboard yesterday and the fall led to him having mild concussion. It was a scary experience for him and an emotional one for us. I’m sat typing this post whilst lying next to him in bed as we want to keep a close eye on him overnight. He was cheerful at teatime but pretty exhausted. I’m hopeful he will wake up full of his usual early morning energy asking to go and see Rusty in his crate.
I’m going to sign off here and get some sleep whilst I can! I wish you all well on our last week of homeschool (we hope!).

I love it when you manage to get a photo of all of them. I definitely have those weeks of just survival where it’s all a bit too much – so pleased they’re back to school on Monday! x
Hope the first week back goes smoothly for you all xx
