“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.” It’s been a busy week as we had inset day on Friday so with a day short the rest of the week simply flew by. I was working on Friday (I’m a childminder) so I had 4 under 7 for the day. I fortunately managed to book tickets to our local National Trust site for the afternoon. We all enjoyed doing a Spring scavenger hunt that Dougie created for one of my monthly blog posts.
It was lovely and quiet and we pretty much had the playground to ourselves with it being a week day. Funnily enough every part of the gardens we played in, the visitors seemed to swiftly move on as the 4 of them were very excited and so far from quiet!

The children all really enjoyed spotting signs of spring and the gardeners kindly turned over some soil for them to find some elusive worms.
We’ve seen a shift in the seasons up in Yorkshire with this week’s sunshine and warmer temperatures. With this we’ve seen lots of blossom blooming and daffodils opening up. It was perfect timing for them to do the spring scavenger hunt and spot all the signs of spring.
This week’s Living Arrows is a short one as it’s been focused on school and then a weekend of productive gardening and house jobs. On Friday we break up for Easter, just as we’ve got used to the back to school routine! We’re hopeful that we will get some nice weather and enjoy some more lovely spring days out like this one.
