Take Your Home From Drab To Fab With These Solutions!

Have you ever thought about improving your property? If you own your home, then we’re sure it’s crossed your mind a time or two, but you have either always put it off because of the cost, or you haven’t had the time. Well, now is the time to throw both of those factors out of the window, because we’re going to be giving you some budget-friendly options that you can use to take your home from drab to fab. It’s about time your home had an update, so get started on this as soon as you can.

Get In The Garden

It’s so easy for a garden to grow into an overgrown jungle, especially in the growing season. It can be really overwhelming to know where to start and to be able to get out and sit/play and enjoy your garden. If mowing and strimming are feeling like an epic job then just take a moment to make a plan of action over a cuppa as to a friend or family member you can call on to help tackle that first mow and then you can keep on top of it fortnightly in the summer from there.

Or, if you don’t want to do this, then you can take a peek into installing fake grass and how much easier it is to maintain. It can be pretty expensive depending on the size of the area, but it’s well worth the investment in terms of your time. I have had friends who have installed artificial grass for a few reasons such as the ground in their garden being tricky to grow good quality grass to having sport-mad kids who destroy every fresh blade.

A New Color For A New Vibe

If you’re going to be taking your home from drab to fab then maybe adding in a new colour could be the answer. Painting is a great way to freshen up your home and doesn’t cost the earth. Maybe get creating a mood board on Pinterest of areas that need revamping. Just a change of colour on doors, trimmings, or banisters can have a dramatic difference in your living areas.

If you want to go for something completely different then think about the opposites to the color that you already have. Or if budget is the top reason you’ve been held back in revamping then go for neutral colours that stand the test of time and add in lots of plants and foliage to create a more indulgent look for less! Head down to your DIY store and get some samples asap so that you can find out which colours suit you and your lifestyle.

Add Something New And Fantastic

Have you ever thought about adding something luxurious to your home? This could be a water feature in the garden, it might be a breakfast island in the kitchen, or it might be a home library. There are plenty of options for you to choose from, as long as it’s something that you feel enhances the home. The goal here is to be giving it that little bit of something extra, but there’s no point in making additions if they are not what fits you as a person.

We have added a lovely reading nook by simply adding two shelves, 2 chairs, and a small drinks table into a corner of our open-plan kitchen. We didn’t have a huge budget for it but it has completely transformed the whole space. You could easily thrift items such as reclaimed wooden shelving, and source seating from the Facebook marketplace, or local thrift/charity shops. By adding wallpaper and paint to the walls and some carefully thought-after accessories everything can easily come together on a budget and take your home from drab to fab!

As you can see, it doesn’t have to be too much hassle to take your home from drab to fab! Just make a few simple changes, ensure that you are keeping up with the general maintenance of the home to keep it sparkling, and it will look amazing. Remember that the only changes that you should make to your home are the ones that you want to because your opinion matters more than anyone else.
