The blog went quiet…!

Well it’s all been a bit quieter on the Blogging front this Month. After a crazy end of term and then getting used to having multiple children at home needing drinks, plasters, bottoms wiping, hair brushing yes you’ve got the picture I’ve been busy being a Mummy!
I know that we all have busy lives and so this doesn’t excuse me making time for some writing. After all it’s a cathartic exercise typing out my thoughts/tips or my tired fuelled rantings on here.

My main reason for not posting often this month is trying to ease up on the social media front and enjoy some digital detox. We filmed a lot as we were out and about wanting to document our holidays, we posted a few Insta stories here and there and put some holiday spam on our feeds. Other than that we’ve taken it a little easier, even having a whole weekend dedicated to no phone/ work and just quality family time. I thought I might be twitching slightly the thought of not posting that crucial picture on Instagram, but no it was really relaxing having a few days break. On our return from our 2 week break  I found myself not wanting to rush my return to my blogging. Following that was a period of getting used to it all again, slowly finding my writing mojo and my quests for improving my blog. Once routine and work appears again in September I’m hoping that my full mojo will have returned. It’s not that I have fallen out of love for it all, far from it I’m looking forward to having more time to write and see my blog evolve further. It’s just that time goes quickly and quality time with family is most important, and just being able to be living in the moment with the kids has been bliss.

It’s not just blogging that’s slipped by the way side these holidays, normal household jobs such as admin and general organisation also have. I’m sure I’m not the only one who just can’t find the time or want to divert the time from entertaining and spending time with the children. What have you been pushing to one side this summer holidays in order to be a parent?

Absolutely, digital detoxes are more than necessary – especially when you have a blog or a little digital business, you need to step away from it for a while and go back to it refreshed.

We carried on the same way all summer as us parents are working and so the kids are going to creche as normal. It would be great to have some time off though. We are planning to go abroad next year.

I hope you get a well deserved break. I was very fortunate to have 4 weeks leave this year!

I feel like I don’t blog as often as most so I didn’t really change much. My daughter didn’t blog at all during the summer. She was far too busy enjoying herself.
I like the sound of a digital detox weekend. With teenagers at home, I wonder who would be the first to crack!

I push so much to one side when I want to focus on my children. Your summer push asides sound just like mine. I don’t know about you though, but I tend to go through the day and if I snap a pic, I think it’ll make a great Instagram post. Just proof that I can’t live life truly social media free.

Yes I think we’re all mostly guilty of that but I do love a good Instagram shot!
