One of the core concerns for a pastoral care department within a school is to monitor the progress
of all of their students, not only in academic sense but also on a personal level. In doing so, they are
in a unique position to identify any problems as and when they arise so they can be dealt with
accordingly and in a timely fashion. Perhaps a student’s grades are slipping, for instance, then the
pastoral care team will be able to investigate what could be causing the issue so that it can be
resolved. As a result, the problem shouldn’t cause long term damage to your child’s academic or
personal progression.
