Where to Pick Conkers in Devon

A handful of conkers in this where to pick conkers in Devon post

The coming of Autumn brings to mind crisp leaves, berry foraging, apple picking and conker collecting. Conker collecting reminds me of my childhood and always takes me back to my memories, including a few injuries from throwing them at each other! These days our children are much safer at collecting conkers than we were! This list of where to pick conkers in Devon has come from my research and Facebook recommendations.

  • Wonky Conker Tree – Bideford Quay
  • Magelake Playing fields -Uffculme
  • Killerton – Broadclyst
  • People’s Park & QE school – Crediton, Exeter
  • Belmont Park – Exeter
  • Bury Meadow – Exeter
  • Exeter University Gardens- Exeter (The grounds include three Arboretums)
  • Haldon Forest – Exeter
  • The Quay – Exeter
  • Phear Park – Exmouth
  • The Glen – Honiton
  • Borough Woods Ilfracombe
  • Beaumont Park – Plymouth
  • Saltram House National Trust – Plymouth
  • Knowle Park -Sidmouth
  • Knightshayes National Trust – Tiverton
  • Cockington Country Park – Torquay
  • Village Green- Widecombe in the Moor, Dartmoor

Hopefully, this ‘Where to pick conkers in Devon’ post is helpful. I’m sure there are many conker corners of Devon, I have missed off, so please let me know if you have a favourite horse chestnut tree to recommend, so I can update this post annually!

If you’re looking for conker-crafting ideas then this post is for you!
