“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” Back to school with a fun addition of dressing up for World book day. Our school doesn’t often do much in the way of special days and celebrations. It was good to see the kids having a break from work, seeing all the kids giggling and smiling in the playground was wonderful.

The little two were keen to be Thing 1 and Thing 2 after watching The Cat in the Hat recently. I think it was apt for them, as they often do the exact opposite to what we ask of them!

After a fun week back at school and a busy half term, I was determined for us all to rest this weekend. This also meant telling others that we’re busy doing nothing, so we didn’t end up with plans after all. On Saturday the rainy weather made it easy for us to chill at home after swimming lessons. On Sunday we had a lazy morning and a dog walk before having a roast dinner. Florence took dressing for the dog walk very seriously and told me she needed long socks to keep her legs warm!
The weather was lovely and we were able to spend some of the walk without coats for the first time this year. Although we are hardy Northerners! Fin couldn’t join us for a walk as he’s been busy revising for his mock GCSEs he’s taking at the moment. We face-timed him, so he didn’t miss out on a group shot! We’re hoping we get out for another nice walk on Friday this week as we have a slightly shorter week for the little ones as they have an inset day and we both have the day off work to be with them.

Loving the Thing 1 and Thing 2 costumes! They look awesome!
Sometimes you just need a quiet weekend. They look ace as Thing 1 and Thing 2! x
I love their WBD costumes! You always seem to go on such fab walks – I really should get my boys out more often.
Its so nice just to take some time out and chill! We are making the most of having quiet weekends at the moment as its going to get very busy soon. Love the world book day costume. Would be apt for my two as well since they never do as they are told either!
