“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” It’s been such a fun filled half term for us. We spent the first weekend trying to chill out after feeling so tired and rundown. Then the start of the week was spent packing and organising the house ready for leaving for Devon for a wedding weekend. Well I say weekend, we left on Wednesday and returned on Sunday, so a very long weekend!
The drive is always a bit epic from Yorkshire to Devon but certainly quicker in Winter than Summer. We managed to travel on calmer weather days, so we were grateful for that. Once down in Devon we met with a few family members ahead of my sister’s big day. We also all had several jobs/roles to help ensure that the day ran smoothly.
In-between jobs we spent time looking around our new house and making notes of a few things that need doing ahead of our move in Summer. Whilst we were busy the kids went on an Alpaca walk with some of the Groom’s family. They had a fun time leading the Alpacas through a woodland by lead.
Then came the wedding day and it was such a beautiful day. The sun shone and everyone was so happy to be there and be a part of their special day. Finlay was an usher, Teddy a page boy, Daisy a bridesmaid and Florence a flower girl. They thankfully all behaved really well on the day (despite numerous late nights). We felt very proud of them and they loved being part of such a special day.
We were totally rubbish at capturing any photos as we were caught up in the moment of the day, so we’re looking forward to the photographer, family and friends sending us more photos to add to our small collection!
It was so wonderful to be at a party with so many extended family members after such a long time. We all made the most of socialising and stayed up until the end and danced a lot! We are totally not ready to be back to work and school and definitely need to catch up on some sleep this week. We’re very much looking forward to Spring and counting down to April and the next school holidays!
