I cant believe how quickly our second week of holidays went by! Midweek we managed a last minute break in the Dales. We camped In the picturesque village of Appletreewick in Wharfedale.

The weather was beautiful but deceptively cooler than it looked, especially at night!

The chilly air didn’t deter my lot from paddling and swimming in the river. I’m sure this won’t surprise any of you!

It was a lovely time of year to visit with all the lambs skipping around in the neighbouring fields. Florence and I enjoyed watching the sheep being fed across the dry stone wall. We also spotted wild rabbits, teeny ducklings as well as some minnows in the river. The site also had a few chickens, 2 roosters and a cat!

The stay wasn’t without a few hiccups, mainly our car battery dying, resulting in calling out the RAC. A few hours later and the car was all good to go, ready for us to leave the next morning.
I don’t know if we will get another day out / break in the Dales again before we leave Yorkshire. If we don’t, I feel like we enjoyed a farewell for now (and not a goodbye) in such a lovely part of Wharfedale.

It looked like a lovely break – even if it was a bit cold! Hopefully it will have warmed up a bit by the time we visit at the end of the month!
It looks like you had a lovely time away – and good weather for it too! I always love your outdoorsy photos x
Sounds like a brilliant camping trip (without the battery issue) I’ve never been to the Yorkshire Dales but it sounds marvellous. You are very brave though camping this time of year x
