“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” After seeing so many back to school photos on social media the time came for ours to return. This school year brings a few new starts with Daisy starting secondary school and Florence starting at preschool. It has gone relatively smoothly and the routine is much needed. It has been a bit weird to be at home without my noisy team.
The first day back we were all a bit apprehensive apart from Daisy who was absolutely buzzing to go on the school bus and start her new chapter. Four days later and she was still coming home with lots of stories and a smile on her face.
Florence also had a new start at her new preschool. She loved wearing her school uniform polo and cardigan and enjoyed her packed lunch. She isn’t very chatty about her day but I remember this is quite normal at this age and the fact she’s going in ok and coming out smiling is a good sign.
The boys have taken a bit of convincing about going back to school and spent the first few days not sure about their new classes and how the new changes are working. They definitely feel that they’re missing more time to spend outside at lunch and break due to new timings etc which is a shame. That said by Friday they were seeming more settled so I’m hopeful that they will settle in the next week or so.
We had a lovely walk this weekend at Castle Howard and enjoyed the September sunshine. We tried to keep the weekend fairly simple as I know how exhausting being back to school is going to be after being used to all the slow days of the past 6 months!
Such a lovely ‘back to school’ picture – welcome back to normality?
Thank you ☺️
Nice to hear that everyone’s settling into their new environments. My daughter had her first day at pre-school today. She went in no trouble and came out reluctantly- she wanted to stay! Katrina x
I’m glad she had a good time x
I love that back to school photo of all of them! Can’t believe you have one in secondary school, crazyyy! Glad all going well 🙂 #livingarrows
Hehe! I love that photo with the blackboards. I hope they are having a fab time being back at school. I’ve never seen mine more eager! #livingarrows
They all look so smart in their uniforms and Daisy really does look so excited and happy! I hope the enthusiasm has continued x
I am striggling with getitng anything out of Harry about reception so I know how that feels. And Charlie is struggling with less time outside too, think its a boy thing, they need to run around more! I think we are all exhausted! Hope you have another great week x
