We love seeing the bluebells at Beningbrough Hall every year. They have some beautiful bluebells inside the property grounds which Flo and I visited earlier this week with my mum. As you can see we were making Flo laugh when we took her picture whilst taking a break from the Easter / Spring wildlife trail they currently have on.
We love the woodland walk surrounding the property the most. If you don’t have a National Trust pass then these bluebells at Beningbrough Hall woods are the free option. We have taken photographs in this same spot every year we have lived here. This year the kids weren’t in the best mood for a group photo as they were bickering and worried about ants on the logs! I snapped a quick pic in the usual spot and then we carried on walking through the woodland and river path for a play and I took a few pictures along the way.
I love walking through the bluebell woods at Beningbrough Hall as you can also extend the walk to incorporate the river walk along the boundary of the property. It’s around 5k so maybe a bit much for little legs but there is a lot to spot and with some snacks along the way we can just about manage it! Of course there is the inevitable fallouts and moans but they usually seem to disappear for a little while when we get to the river beach or feed them!
I love this candid shot of Teddy tucking into a Victoria sponge that his Auntie had given us the day before. It really sums up how we all feel about a good slice of cake and a rest stop along the way!
Daisy asked if we could get Rusty in the bluebells this year as she loves to add photos on his own Instagram page. It was harder than photographing the children as he was enjoying the woodland scents too much!
I thought I would share our photos from the Bluebell woods at Beningbrough Hall over the past years. Last year for obvious reasons we only just caught the bluebells and so they weren’t the best. I think Finlay and Daisy in particular have grown the most in the past year.
I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing these pictures from over the years. I sometimes wish we could press pause on them all growing up so fast!
There is a farm cafe for dining and takeaway outside of the NT property with some parking available.
Inside the NT property there are toilets, shop and cafe facilities.
I love hearing about places I haven’t heard of before – adding Beningbrough to my list! The woods look stunning and it sounds like you have a lovely tradition there too! x

I love that you go back to the same spot every year – and you got some lovely pictures too. We’ve only been to bluebell woods once – I don’t know if we might be a bit late to find them this year though.
I hope you get to see some soon. Lytham Hall used to have some pretty ones if I recall x
