Family Life with Living Arrows 27/52 (2021)

Family Life with Living Arrows

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” Family life has been a bit average this week. I’m not necessarily complaining as an average week isn’t aways a bad thing. I know not every week can be exciting and I’m relived it wasn’t a bad week of course. It just means that I don’t have an awful lot to report on for this week’s Living Arrows!

I think it’s just that part of the term where we all feel like we have our heads down, trying to get on with school, work and survival! We’re still a little tired yet again this week, the kids’ colds / hay fever has been dragging on a bit too long making them all a bit testy! This has meant we decided to spend the weekend just being at home and in the garden.

This photo was taken as I walked into the kitchen when Daisy was making some rocky road. She loves to bake and so every so often I buy some ingredients, print off a recipe and hand it to her to create. She loves the responsibility and the outcome!

Teddy also helped me make some banana s’mores (recipe coming soon) for the England football game. I was making them by myself and he came in and asked if he could help me. Florence also joined in and they both brought stools to reach the counter!

Florence, my Mum and I did get out on her nursery day off to visit Beningbrough Hall again for a few hours. It was to try and finish off the scavenger hunt from a few weeks ago when it was too hot. We arrived and the sun came out again and we were totally overdressed for the afternoon. I’m thinking we should just move in there as the weather is always nice when we visit!

The gardens are looking stunning now and we enjoyed seeing all the wildflower beds and Florence enjoyed a trip to the play park this time. I absolutely love her new mermaid print tunic that I found for a steal on eBay!

I must remember next week to get a snap of Finlay as I haven’t got one yet again. I really need to document him as he’s had another growth spurt and has just overtaken Dougie in the height stakes!

Florence’s face is always such a delight! The worst thing for us about the kids going back to school is always the colds. It’s relentless! x

I know how you feel! We are all wishing the days away until the holidays. Everyone is so tired. I really like the picture of Flo in the poppies so pretty and it looked like a wonderful place to visit. Not long to go now x
