I can’t believe that I’m typing up week 50 of Living Arrows and I’m once again documenting our family’s Christmas build up. In some ways 2020 has felt long and then in others it feels like yesterday I was typing 50/52 for 2019!
For the past 3 years we have visited the local hidden Christmas tree. It has become a bit of a new tradition to our Christmas build up. We decided to ditch the car and walk up there, so supplies of a large toddler carrier, hot chocolate and cookies were essential to get there and back!
We have had some beautiful festive woodland pictures there the last 3 years and managed to get a couple and a little video for Instagram. I’ll enjoy looking back on these pictures in years to come.
At the end of November Daisy and I made up some little advent bags to go alongside our fabric advent calendar. In these little bags we placed a small chocolate for each and day and the occasional message / activity. One of the messages this week was to go for a Christmas lights drive. We just took the two littles and were pleased to come across 2 houses that had decorated for charitable donations. Teddy was a little disappointed to hear that we won’t be decorating our house like they have!
Lastly, Teddy got star of the week this week for the first time this school year. He had written a fabulous potion for his creative writing. This and making a Christingle on Friday definitely helped cheer him up as he’s really struggling now with tiredness towards the end of term. We all can’t wait to finish school on Friday so the Christmas build up can really begin!
What a lovely place to visit and well done on getting the star of the week!
That Christmas tree is beautiful and such a wonderful tradition x

The hidden Christmas tree sounds awesome – I think I remember you writing about it last year 🙂 We’ve been meaning to take the boys on a drive to look at Christmas lights too – hopefully we’ll fit it in in the next couple of days.
Hope you all have a lovely Christmas x
