“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” This week has been a little quicker than the very long week last week but I can’t believe we’re still (only just) in January! With a normal uneventful week of school and work, I will focus on our weekend news. We took a trip over to see my Mum and went out for cake and coffee. Then on Sunday Florence took part in the RSPB big garden birdwatch.

I love this photo of Florence drawing at the table in the farm cafe. She has recently become really interested in drawing and tells us that it’s her hobby. We’re actually pretty impressed with some of her recent pictures of people. She has an amateur Quentin Blake style to her portraits going on!

On Sunday Florence and I spent some quality time on our own. We took part in the RSPB Big garden Birdwatch in the afternoon. She was very excited, as she remembers taking part last year. She dressed up for the occasion and was very enthusiastic.

That was until we only had one bird land in over 30 minutes! Poor Florence was starting to feel disheartened but finally we spotted a magpie and then had a Robin and Blackbird visit. She was a little fed up that our feeders were not like the Piccadilly Circus for birds but we did have fun all the same. Especially when Dougie tried to cheer her up by pretending to be a bird on the front lawn!
This is it from me this week as I’m feeling a tad tired and running low on motivation for anything but staring at the tv and heading to bed. Even with the lack of rain and the lovely blue skies, this month has really. felt like an exhausting month. We’re all finding it a bit of a struggle to get up in the mornings with motivation!

Awww bird watching is such a lovely thing to do and what an outfit your little one has for it!
Oh my gosh, how awesome does Florence look in her bird watching gear?! Love her! x
I am seriously lacking on the motivation front so know exactly what you mean. Sorry to hear you did not get many birds. I totally forgot it was on and didn’t do it. So you are definitely doing better than us. She does look ver cute in her outfit.
January has definitely been a drag hasn’t it? I love Flo’s birdwatching outfit though! We didn’t do the birdwatching this year but have for the last couple of years – we’re always the same too, usually have loads of birds but then hardly any for the hour you’re supposed to be counting them!
