D.I.Y Felt Ball Garland

I know that these little felt ball garlands have been about on social media squares for quite a while now, hung on quirky shelves etc.  I have always lusted over them as I just love a bit of cheer to home decor.  I have many times hovered over buying them and just not committed to checkout with them.  This month I have found myself feeling the crafty urge.  So I decided that it was time to invest in some tapestry needles and some good twine and order some balls!  You can pick up hand made felt balls on eBay or Etsy.  I then popped to our local hobby craft for needles, twine and a thimble.

Decide on your colour scheme, whether you want balls, hearts, stars or a mix and get threading that twine through them.  You have to apply a bit of pressure to the needle to get through the ball, I actually found using the table easier than the thimble.  The balls just sit on the twine and you can space them out how you wish (they’re not loose on the twine).  As you can see I have gone for Autumn colours to decorate our mantelpiece.  I now have the felt wool ball garland bug and I’m planning my next mini garland and Christmas coloured garland as I type!  They are very simple and effective and so I now have orders from all the mini people in our house!

They really can! At least this way once you invest in the materials you can then make more than one xx
