Our first week back from holidays and with endless washing and unpacking to do, it felt like I may not have fun with the kids again, or write another blog post this month! Fortunately after a few days I caught up as best as I can with all of them at home. Dougie went back to work complete with cast and we made the most of some cheaper local outings and our garden. We had a few nice picnics, met with our friends and had some time in our garden. We have had a mix of days where they have bickered and wound each other up, which has been totally tiring but fortunately as the week progressed there has thankfully been less arguments.
This photo really summed up the mood of the children when we went out for cake and a play at our local National trust. Florence really wasn’t playing ball with picture taking. Teddy however was keen on me snapping a photo of him on the giant pumpkin, although I’m not sure the gardeners would have been happy if they caught us!
Sunday came and after a lovely slow weekend in the garden, Fin slipped and fell at the bottom of the stairs and broke his arm. Such a shame for him at the end of the holidays but we were fortunate that he was seen speedily and efficiently at the Hospital, so we now have two members of the family with broken bones for the first time, and all in a matter of a week, what are the chances! He’s a bit downhearted that when we celebrate Florence turning 3 with a party this coming Sunday he won’t be able to join in much.
Oh no – what a nightmare! Bless, a broken arm is not the way to end the holidays. I hope your little one heals quickly xxx
