Egg-citing Weekend – Our family Easter!

Living Arrows 2018 (14/53)

“You are the bows from which your children  as living arrows are sent forth”. Kahlil Gibran

I’m really enjoying linking up with Donna on her living arrows link up, I just wish I could organise myself a little better to be a bit earlier with my posts! Something to work on after the holidays, methinks!

Last week was all about family visiting.  A lot of our family haven’t seen our new home yet so we were all really excited to do some hosting over the Easter week.

First we had our big boy’s 12th Birthday. This number makes me nearly as emotional as the run up to secondary school, as this is his final year before becoming a teenager, such a big milestone that I’m not sure I’m ready for, but that’s another blog post for the future.  For now I’m going to relish the fact he wanted to spend the day with his own family at the local trampoline park and had a lovely meal out at the end of the day.  He loves everything Lego and was lucky to have some lovely presents and cards from friends and family, and has watched umpteen movies on these rainy days on his portable DVD player that we bought him.

Easter Weekend came and we had an extended family gathering at our house, the kids were so excited and mucked in making the table extra long and tidying up ready for our guests.  The presence of my brother always makes the kids excited and at the end of a busy fun day we were all gathered round their favourite film Paddington 2 with lots of chocolate!

It makes you realise how important it is for the kids to spend quality time with family members that don’t nag them like we do!
