Hot Chocolates and Face Paints with Living Arrows 43/52

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” It felt like we really counted down for our week off. This weekend the kids celebrated with hot chocolates in the garden, Halloween movie time and face paints!

During the week before school ended, Flo and I had a cafe trip with my Mum who is a part of our support bubble. Flo was so pleased to have a new Halloween dolly dressing sticker book and even more amused by seeing herself on camera!

She’s getting more and more into the Halloween spirit and asked if we could get the face paints out. Dougie painted them up with their spooky requests and I was surprised to see that they didn’t wipe it off until we washed them at bathtime.

The kids were so good and played around us whilst we were busy hacking away at shrubs and borders. They were rewarded with this hot chocolate chill out area. Dougie lit the chimnea and they cosied up under blankets, although Florence is clearly hardy as she refused a coat or jumper for most of the day. Fin spent the afternoon outdoors with 2 friends as he’s getting to the age where being with friends occasionally and having some independence is important to him socially and emotionally.

We’re all now very ready for some slower paced days off. Especially me after using up my remaining energy from this term in the garden! Time for a recharge for all of us this coming week. I will be back to let you know how we got on. Hope all your little and your big ones enjoy a much needed half term holiday.
