Wow, week 20 already! We decided to slow down our Sunday after a busy week of school, clubs and extra commitments. We visited the Yorkshire coast, we went for a picnic lunch on the beach and then a stroll around Staithes harbour. The kids were delighted to hear we were going to visit this harbour as it’s the village where Old Jack’s boat from CBeebies is set.
We had some quality time with all the children on the beach. We played games, did a scavenger hunt and climbed over the rocks. 
We were having such a lovely time we didn’t realise how quickly the tide had come in so had to make a swift exit off the beach before the pathway vanished! There is something so traditional and reminiscent of childhood memories that you get from a beach visit. 
You feel like you’re really forming some lovely memories for your own children. Of course In the interest of keeping it real, they did have some tired squabbles in the car but they soon subsided as they were all pretty shattered. We also chose to ignore the squabbles as we were feeling quite chilled and recognised it was a sign of fresh air from a fun day out.
