This week I have learnt that half term week and solo parenting aren’t for the faint hearted! With Dougie away for 8 days we’ve had laughter, cross words and tears. That aside we have done some really lovely things and have appreciated all being together with no morning school rush to do.
Highlights have been when we have met up with friends and went to the cinema and enjoyed watching Aladdin for a treat.
Amongst all these days out we did also enjoy some quieter times in the garden.
Finlay and Daisy also got to go for a sleepover at my sister’s. Meanwhile, left with the littles, I impressed Teddy with my den building skills.
They also finished the week on a high by attending a forest school party which they loved. They even got to fire crossbows, slightly scary watching a two year old handle the weapon!
I hope you all enjoyed your half term and are ready for routine to begin. I really can’t believe we’re into the last term of the year now.

The last term already? Wow?! Where does the time go!!
I always envy people who solo parent for a chunk of time. That said, I go away just me and the kids within the UK for at least one school holiday a year. It’s exhausting! x
It sounds like you had a great half term – and well done for managing it solo! Toby and Gabe are having a forest school birthday party next month and we’re all very excited 🙂 #LivingArrows
We thought the party was great fun, such a good idea!
I am not sure I would have been able to do a whole week on my own with the boys and there is only two of them. Hats off to you. Sounds like you had a great half term. I am not sure I would have trusted Kipper with a crossbow!! xx
Haha I was watching the crossbow firing out of one eye 🙈
