Snow day like home!

Living Arrows 2018 (10/53)

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”. Kahlil Gibran

If you’re new to my blog then welcome and this weekly living arrows link up was created by the lovely Donna at ‘What the redhead says’. I’m really enjoying the way I can incorporate my children’s memories into a weekly round up of our news.  If you are also fairly new to blogging like myself then pop over and join in!Most of the country ground to a halt for most of last week, with the arrival of that ‘beast from the east’.  The met office and/or media spin of these storm names do make me chuckle!  I usually ignore most of these predicted storms and part of me thought they would be wrong last week.  They were right, it was baltic and yes I should have maybe had an extra loaf or carton of milk delivered before it arrived! In our household we were pleased to all be feeling healthy and to have a lazy start to 2 days of the week. Snow days are just some of the best memories I have as a child and so I was determined to brave the weather and get them out for some fresh air and snow fun before it disappeared  for another few years.

Finlay buit a snow hole and we’ve had a daily update over a week of its demise from when the thaw began!  Daisy played outside for hours with not enough warm clothing on but a very content smile on her face.  Teddy, well despite being born in Germany (a country used to a lot of snow), he certainly isn’t equipped for cold weather. He smiled for a photo and then mostly whinged until he was back in the house with his next snack and warm milk.  Florence, oh Florence you are a force to be reckoned with, you wanted to try and walk your way through the snow drifts and stay outside until you’re little hands were frozen, just like your big sister!

They look as though their thoroughly enjoyed the snow. You wouldn’t know from the picture that Teddy wasn’t really a big fan. I love their rosey cheeks.
