Star of the Week with Living Arrows 6/52 (2022)

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”  We are slowly motoring through the term. We’re just counting down the weeks to half term and I still can’t believe we still have two weeks of the term left! Florence brought us some good news at home time on Friday. She came out of school with the star of the week award!

This is the first time she has had it, since being in the school setting since preschool. The star of the week gets to bring home the class mascot, Dory the fish. Florence also has to fill in a piece of paper of what her and Dory got up to over the weekend and include a picture. I much prefer this format than having a book where you see all your classmates’ adventures. Especially when we didn’t have a particularly exciting weekend to write about!

Other than the news of our super star of the week, we haven’t got much else to report on. We did managed a quick hour walk at our local National Trust in the middle of a gusty gale. It was nicer than it sounds as we were all wrapped up! I was happy as I saw lots of beautiful snowdrops for the first time this year. FYI -Don’t worry no snowdrops were harmed in the taking of this photo!

We promised the kids a play in the park, if we could have a walk around the woodland to see the snowdrops. When we arrived at the park the heavens opened and freezing rain/sleet/hail can down. They braved a brief play on the swings and slide and then needless to say we retreated to the van for an afternoon biscuit treat and then headed home for some more chilling out!

That’s all our news for this week. We’re really trying to do as little as possible over these Winter weekends. We have some plans for the end of the month, over half term, so we need to reserve what energy we have for then!

I am with you, definitely preserving the energy at th moment. This term has seemed so long. Well done on the star of the week Florence and it definitely seems th right thing to do just a page over a book!
