“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” I was looking for photos from the Jubilee weekend. Turns out I didn’t actually take any of the kids the day we had some party food in the garden! So the few photos I took of the week are instead from our York museum visits.

With just a few weeks left in York, we wanted to re-visit some of the city centre museums whilst we are so close to them! First off we returned to the Castle museum. Florence was so little when we last went.

The Victorian street is our highlight of the museum and the kids loved hearing some ghost stories from a member of staff. There is also a WW1 exhibition which they enjoyed over on the old prison side of the museum.

At the end of the holidays we returned to the Jorvik Viking museum as again it’s been a few years since we were there. We enjoyed the time machine rail car that transports you back to Viking era around the Coppergate houses. Top tip – if you ask the staff at the end of the ride if you can go again they have always said yes to us!
After the museum visits we had a good look around the Shambles as well as visiting some of our favourite shops (Waterstones and Lush) for a bath bomb and snapped this very British photo in the museum gardens.

Fab photos! We went to the Castle Museum and Jorvik before we had the kids but we should really take them back one day soon – York is such a lovely place too!
I loved our trip to York at Easter and it made me really want to visit again ASAP! You’ll definitely miss Yorkshire – it stole my heart! x
