“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” I’m a little late writing last week’s post (again!). We were busy having fun at our first family festival at Stockeld park on Sunday.

We haven’t braved a festival with all the kids before and so when we were kindly offered a press pass to Stockeld Rox we gladly accepted. It sounded like the perfect first time family festival as it was more of a picnic in the park with music and being so close to home, made it ideal.
The acts were all tribute acts and honestly we were impressed as they sounded just like the real artists. All of our kids danced from Fin down to Flo. They waved various flashing plastic tat around and soaked up the atmosphere. It was fab seeing so many families enjoy music outdoors but in a safe and socially distanced way.

Florence as always threw herself into the evening and rocked her army issue ear defenders. Of which I highly recommend taking ear defenders to a music event as even Daisy preferred wearing them. As you can see we took our own face paints from the wonky rainbow on her face!

This photo was taken earlier in the adventure park as we had access to the park for a few hours before the family festival started. We have only visited the park at Christmas time, so it was fun exploring there in a different season. There was a cool jurassic trail through the enchanted wood. My kids loved the different play parks dotted throughout the wood. We did however avoid the maze as it’s always stressful taking 4 kids into one! They are currently building Europe’s largest indoor play centre, which I’m sure they will want to visit when it’s up and running. I may need ear defenders and lots of caffeine for that visit!
I don’t have many photos other than these ones from the festival as we mainly spent time at home last week. Florence and Teddy have been tag teaming being poorly so poor Teddy missed the festival. I’m hoping he’s on the mend ready to enjoy the remainder of our last week of holidays together. I can’t believe that I only have just over a week with Florence at home. It’s going to be a really emotional September!
If you’re back to school this week, I wish you all well and hope it goes smoothly. It will be interesting to see how this school year compares to the last two….!

It looks like you had just the best time! I haven’t been to a festival either with or without kids. One day! x
It looks like you had a great time – Stockeld park is definitely on our list of places to visit one day 🙂 Hope Flo and Teddy are both feeling better now x
It’s lovely to visit at Christmas time x
Keeping everything crossed that this year is a lot smoother! I have not taken both boys to a festival yet it looked like you had so much fun and I love the wonky rainbow. Hope next week goes well for you all x
Thank you xx
Thank you! X
