“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”. Kahlil Gibran. What a whirlwind week it’s been here in the UK. Family life has been faced with adjusting to a new normal. We managed to have a healthy household this week so we were relieved to hear that the schools were to close on Friday. I found it emotional at the thought that this could be their last day of the school year. I do hope that Daisy and the other year 6s get to return to primary school before their secondary school journey starts.
This picture of Teddy was taken on the last day. He decided to wear his shorts as it was sunny and also in case he doesn’t get to wear them this Spring/Summer term.
This photo of Flo sums up our glorious last day out at a lovely quiet local park. I’m glad that we had this day together and I will remember it fondly over the coming weeks. We hope to get back there soon as a family, when it’s safe to do so.
Fin, Teddy and Flo also enjoyed finding some frogspawn with Dougie at the weekend. We now have some in our garden and we’re hoping to successfully watch the life cycle of a frog unfold as part of our home school time together.
The next few weeks are full of uncertainties so I wanted to take this opportunity to say stay safe, take care and good luck with homeschooling!

Awww I am glad you managed to get some time outside to have fund before the lockdown happened. I wanted to see if I could get some frog spawn but missed the boat. Unless of course you can buy it online!
I hope you survived your first week at home unscathed! It’s such strange times isn’t it? It probably won’t affect my boys too much in the grand scheme of things but I felt so sorry for all the Year 6 kids who might not get to go back to primary school at all. Take care x
