Top Tips For Refreshing Your Bedroom

As a busy parent or household, you most likely spend a lot of time ensuring your home is tidy, organised and clean. However, it’s natural to put your own bedroom at the bottom of your to-do list when doing so. This is also the case when it comes to redecorating. That being said, you deserve to have a space within your home that is truly your own – a sanctuary where you can relax and unwind after a busy day. This goal is hard to achieve if it’s an outdated, cluttered mess. We’re bringing you 7 tips for refreshing your bedroom!

With that in mind, here are some top tips for refreshing your bedroom!

Choose a theme. If you aren’t sure where to start when decorating your bedroom (or any room within your house), you may find choosing a specific theme or style to be useful. This will provide you with a framework to follow moving forward while also ensuring that you create a space that looks and feels cohesive. Make a mood board on Pinterest and work on a colour palette.

Start with a deep clean and declutter. The first step towards refreshing your bedroom is deep cleaning and decluttering the space. This will give you a blank canvas to work with moving forward.

Apply a fresh coat of paint. Applying a fresh coat of paint is one of the most straightforward ways in which you can rejuvenate your bedroom. Painting can help mask signs of wear and tear whilst also bringing some colour into the space. To keep costs down you can DIY and you could always look to add a bit more depth to your painted room by adding panelling or a dado rail to the room.

Invest in quality furniture. While you should always keep your budget in mind, it can be key to invest in high-quality furniture over cheaper, poorly-made alternatives. This is because you know that the pieces will stand the test of time. As such, now is the perfect time to invest in quality bedroom staples that will give you that hard-wearing quality and style that you need such as Wardrobes With Sliding Doors.

Focus on sleep and comfort. Focusing on your comfort (and sleep) is key when decorating your bedroom. Especially when your bedroom environment has a significant influence over your sleeping habits.

Consider thrifting. Once you’ve invested in the essentials, you may be able to find decor and other finishing touches second-hand. Remember, you can always upcycle them later if they’re looking a little worse for wear.

Focus on the finer details. Believe it or not, even the smallest of details can have a big impact on how your bedroom looks. It is also a great way to inject some personality into your bedroom, making the space entirely your own. For example, you could decorate your bedroom by learning how to style fresh flowers or by creating your own artwork to hang on the walls.

If you feel as though you’re long overdue for a bedroom refresh, there’s no time like the present! Introducing some of the changes listed above is a great starting point and will help you on your way to creating a space that you truly love. I would love to hear if you have any ideas or tips for refreshing your bedroom.
