We love a celebration in our home and so tweaking our various fudge recipes to fit in with a season or special day is always fun! Better late than never as this week just a few days before Easter we made a slow cooker mini egg fudge. I cant believe it’s taken until now as there have been mini eggs in the shops since Christmas time!

We’ve been making slow cooker fudge for quite some time now and like lots of other topics I blog about we love being seasonal so being able to make an Easter egg version of fudge is a no-brainer for us!
Why in the slow cooker / crockpot ?
We find it such a simple way to make fudge. no boiling to certain temperatures etc. Just place all the ingredients into the slow cooker and apart from stirring every 10 minutes there isn’t much more to it!
Tips for slow cooker fudge
We prefer cooking our fudge on the low setting of the slow cooker / crockpot. We just find it works better this way. Remember you have to stir the mixture every 10 minutes and we find setting an alarm keeps us on task. You could cook on high and reduce the time down if you prefer a quicker result!
We always cook our slow cooker fudge recipes for the first 1/2 hour with the lid on and then remove the lid for the remaining cooking time.
Don’t be alarmed if the fudge goes a pale shade of caramel around the edges this can happen with white chocolate fudge recipes. Simply stir lots and it will continue to cook well.
Line the tin with baking or greaseproof paper so the fudge doesn’t stick to the tin.
If you prefer a softer fudge that’s less white chocolate tasting then you can reduce the amount of white chocolate used by 100-200 grams. This just means the condensed milk takes a stronger flavour to the fudge and it’s softer in texture but left in the fridge sets perfectly well.
Now I’m sure you want the recipe for this delicious slow cooker mini egg fudge!
